Hearing Aid Exam Results

During your consultation, your provider will review with you the results of your comprehensive hearing examination. Together you will discuss what types of sounds you may not be hearing, any indication of permanent hearing loss, and what solutions may be suitable for your needs. After analyzing your hearing results, your provider may recommend a hearing aid for one or both ears and explain how hearing aids can support and help with your hearing loss.

Once you have been formally diagnosed with a hearing loss and it is recommended that you need hearing aids, our hearing aid professional will help you determine which hearing aids are right for you. It is important that your provider understands your medical and family history, lifestyle, daily activities, and a little about your home or work environments. This information will help them to best understand your hearing health. During this time, you will also have the opportunity to ask your provider about any concerns or questions you may have.

By understanding your specific lifestyle, our hearing aid professional can tailor your hearing aids to be suited to your everyday needs.

Selecting Your Hearing Aids

Hearing aid technology and personalization options have advanced a great deal in recent years. There are many hearing aid styles and features available, each serving a specific need. Our hearing aid professional will demonstrate the various hearing technologies to ensure that they help you find the one that suits you best. A provider’s goal is to find the right device for you based on your needs for the following three criteria:

  • Hearing Loss Severity
  • Personal Lifestyle
  • Financial Circumstances

Once your selection has been made, your provider may take an impression of your ears (depending on hearing aid style) for a custom fit hearing device. Often hearing aids must be ordered from the manufacturer and then programmed by your provider to benefit your hearing needs. Due to this, it is not always possible to receive your hearing aids same day.
